Water kefir starter cultures, to make water kefir at home


This powdered kefir culture makes water kefir.


2 sachets of kefir ferment of 5 grams each.


Add the contents of 1 sachet to 1 liter of water with some fruit and sugar and the next day your water kefir beverage is ready.


A powdered kefir starter culture may also be used to culture coconut water or fruit juice

This product can be used to make 16L of water kefir.

Water kefir starter cultures - NATALI

Water kefir is a water-based drink that is obtained by fermentation. Water kefir is an association of bacteria and yeasts that are capable of fermenting sucrose and fructose. It is used by adding slices of fresh fruit (lemon, orange ...), dried fruit (figs, ...) to the fermentation.

Preparation time: 2 minutes

Fermentation time: 24-48 hours at room temperature

Instruction:

  1. Dissolve the water kefir starter cultures in 1L mineral water. Add, to taste, 1 à 2 slices of lemon, 1 to 2 dried fruits (fig, apricot ...) and 2 to 3 tablespoons of sugar.
  2. Close the glass jar (storage pot of 1.5L). In case of an open fermentation use filter paper and a rubber band.
  3. Allow to ferment for at least 27-48 hours at room temperature (20-25°C).
  4. When the dry fruits come to the surface, the water kefir beverage is ready.
  5. Filter the contents with a sieve to remove the fruit.
  6. Enjoy the homemade water kefir beverage.
  7. There may be a slight white deposit on the bottom of the bottle, this is completely normal.

Ingredients: Cane sugar, freeze-dried water kefir (cane sugar, freeze-dried yeast for kefir: Lactobacillus, Lactococcus, Leuconostoc, Saccharomyces, Acetobacter). Products from organic agriculture.
